Emergency Paper Mug

I know a lot of people have been worried about Royal Mail industrial action effecting their mug deliveries and therefore, ever ready to pounce into action, I’ve worked through the night and created an Emergency Mug, which you can assemble in the comfort of home.

You will need the following.

Instructions.
  1. Print out the mug plan
  2. Using a knife cut along each of the solid lines. (Don’t cut the oval out yet!) Your printer may not have printed right to the edge, but you should cut all the way.
  3. Using a knife cut the seven slots
  4. Fold the round portion at 90 degrees to the rectangle
  5. Fold the portion on the left hand edge of the rectangular section
  6. Insert tabs on the round portion into the slots in the rectangular area, fold those tabs down and fix with sticky tape (optional but recommended).
  7. You should now have a sort of cylinder with a base. Place this to one side.
  8. Along with the scraps of waist paper, you should find a smaller rectangle with a tabs on one end.
  9. Fold this along the dotted line.
  10. Cut the oval out cutting through both sheets
  11. Cut the folded over portion to match the original.
  12. Slot the handle into the cylinder and fold over tabs and fix with sticky tape (optional but recommended).
  13. Now turn to your attention to the yoghurt pots and string.
  14. Make small hole in each pot
  15. Thread string through the bottom of each cup, and knot.
  16. Hand cup to a friend who should move 12m away, pulling the string tight
  17. Now tell your friend that you made a useless paper mug and a rubbish communication device.
  18. They may reply via TXT, so you should have your phone with you.
Please note the paper mug is just for fun and only an idiot would try to use it. When I tried it, it worked just fine while adding instant coffee and sugar, but was slightly less than brilliant when I added boiling water and milk. My paper spoon also didn’t work out so good.

Better just to wait for your real mug to arrive.

Pete.
